Balayage is a freehand painting method that creates soft, sun-kissed color by hand-applying lightener to sections of hair. The AirTouch Technique takes it a step further — a blow-dryer is used to remove shorter, finer hairs before color is applied, resulting in an even more seamless blend and ultra-natural transition at the roots. How much does balayage cost at Lira Guzi Salon in Chicago?
Balayage pricing at Lira Guzi Salon varies depending on your hair length, density, and the complexity of the look you want. The best way to get an accurate number is to book a consultation in person, where your colorist can assess your hair and give you a clear, upfront price before any work begins. How long does a balayage appointment take, and how often will I need a touch-up?
A balayage appointment at Lira Guzi Salon typically takes two to four hours depending on your hair length, density, and the depth of color change involved. Most clients return for a touch-up every three to five months, since balayage is designed to grow out gradually with no harsh regrowth line. Can balayage work on previously colored or color-corrected hair?
Yes, balayage can be done on previously colored hair, but the process and timeline depend on your current color history. A colorist will assess your hair's condition and existing pigment before proceeding — color-corrected hair may require a multi-session approach to achieve the desired result safely without compromising hair health. What makes Lira Guzi Salon a top choice for balayage in Chicago?

Yes, balayage works beautifully on dark and thick hair, though it may require a longer appointment or multiple sessions to achieve lighter tones safely. An experienced colorist can customize the technique to create dimension and brightness that flatters your natural base without over-processing the hair. How do I maintain my balayage color between salon visits?
To keep balayage looking fresh, use a sulfate-free shampoo, a weekly toning or purple mask to neutralize brassiness, and a quality heat protectant before styling. Most clients find that balayage requires less upkeep than traditional highlights because the soft, painted application grows out naturally without a visible regrowth line. What should I bring or do to prepare for my balayage appointment at Lira Guzi Salon?
Come to your appointment with clean, dry, or lightly styled hair, and bring a few reference photos showing the tone and dimension you have in mind. Having photos helps your colorist understand exactly the level of brightness and blending you are looking for before the appointment begins. Can I get balayage and a haircut done in the same visit at Lira Guzi Salon in Chicago?
Yes, you can combine a balayage service with a haircut in a single visit at Lira Guzi Salon. Booking both together is common and allows your colorist and stylist to coordinate the cut and color for a cohesive finished look — just be sure to mention both services when you schedule so enough time is reserved.Does Lira Guzi Salon offer a consultation before starting a balayage service?
Yes, a consultation is included at the start of your balayage appointment so your colorist can assess your hair and align on your desired result before any color is applied. This ensures the technique and tones chosen are tailored specifically to your hair type, natural base, and lifestyle. How do I know if balayage or a full highlight service is the right choice for my hair goals?
Balayage is the better fit if you want a sun-kissed, low-maintenance result with softer, blended grow-out, while traditional full highlights deliver more uniform, higher-contrast coverage from root to tip. A colorist at Lira Guzi Salon can help you weigh both options against your natural base and how much upkeep you want to commit to.
